Welcome to the news page for the Sam Sanderlin family. We are serving in the country of Cameroon, West Africa. We are planting churches in the Northwest Region and using aviation to reach out into the remote areas of the Southwest Region where the gospel is little known. Our sending church is Wyldewood Baptist in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Our sending agency, Wings as Eagles Mission Air Service, is a ministry of our home church.
Greetings from Cameroon!

Welcome, Caitlyn Joy Sanderlin!
Caitlyn Joy entered the world via Cameroon this morning at 8:35. Praise The Lord for safety and health for baby and mommy. She weighs 6 lb 13 oz. and we did not see the length yet. Her hair is perhaps a strawberry blond, but that is hard to say for sure. She reminds us a bit of her big sister Elena when she was born.
Caitlyn means "pure/innocent" and well you know what Joy means. Abby wanted the name of her pastor's wife Joy Hirth to be part her life.
Psalm 19:8, "The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Forgotten February...moving on in March
Well, I was not able really to post in February for various reasons...busy and blogger connection problems. I tried a few times, but hopefully this time will work. We are in Sabga and have been here for over a week. We are waiting for baby number to make his/her grand entrance. Abby is doing well but is surprised that this baby did not come early like the rest. Her due date is the 11th. We were really hoping for a March 10 birthday, but that is slipping by!
Here are a few pictures of Chris and Laura's visit. I think Laura has some good pictures, so we'll have to figure out a way to share those. Today I took a few people flying including by brother Chris. I gave him an aerial tour of the valley of 13 villages where we will be working together in the coming months and where my family has lived for the last almost 6 years.

GlaStar Annual Inspection complete
The picture may not show much, but this is where I have mostly been from Sunday night to Saturday afternoon this week. Praise the Lord that the annual inspection on my plane is finished! I worked under an American mechanic who is based in Cameroon's capital, and he did a great job of finding and fixing the problems in the plane. I slept in Sabga most nights, and my family did well without me! I learned a lot this week as usual working on the plane. The test flight today went well, and we are back in business.
Also, the Needhams came back from furlough this week, and brother Tom started right in to his own annual inspection with the mechanic. Pray for Tom to be able to finish his inspection soon as the mechanic had to leave for home.

Happy Thanksgiving!
We are thankful to the Lord for our family and friends around the world. We have much to be thankful for in our family and ministry. We are celebrating with other missionaries again this year.

Fall update...thankful for God' blessings!
I am sitting in a local clinic getting some lab work done, so I though I would update. I was also able to finish ready the memoir of Rev. John Gano, colonial Baptist pastor and chaplain, while I wait. I am thankful for those my predecessors in the ministry and also those I work with and around today both from America, Canada, and Cameroon. I am also thankful for my family and coming child in march. I am thankful for my family in America that had part in my faith and preparation for serving The Lord

Family getaway
After being sick with malaria and hosting the conference and just because we always do this once a year, we traveled to a mountain cottage for a family holiday.
Bible conference
A few weeks ago we hosted a Bible conference on our Baptist history and heritage. The Lord used it to revive and encourage many of our fellowship churches.
Above is a night session with Pastor Jim Wright.

Journey to the original Cameroon coast!
I had the awesome privilege to travel with Pastor Eugene to the very beaches where baptist missionaries first entered Cameroon in 1841 and the following years. These were the same beaches where slaves were shipped out prior to 1840 when slavery was legal. We also saw the highest mountain in West Africa, Mt. Cameroon.
