Before we left the house we were staying at to see the statue of Liberty, we showed Elena pictures of where we were going. She practised saying "Lady Liberty" most of the morning and also held her arm up with the torch. She was so excited when she saw the real think in the distance. She was even more excited when got to the island. I can't put it into words the thrill it was to see this great American monument. We are so thankful for days like this in the midst of our busy travel days. It truly was a refreshment and encouragement to us as a family.
Welcome to the news page for the Sam Sanderlin family. We are serving in the country of Cameroon, West Africa. We are planting churches in the Northwest Region and using aviation to reach out into the remote areas of the Southwest Region where the gospel is little known. Our sending church is Wyldewood Baptist in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Our sending agency, Wings as Eagles Mission Air Service, is a ministry of our home church.
Greetings from Cameroon!

Does Elena know how fortunate she is?! I'm 26 and haven't been there! Arghhh.....
Jim, maybe you can get there before you are 30 like Abby and myself. It was so neat to be able to see something that you have only heard about and seen pictures of your whole life. Don't visit without a GPS and some research first! That made it easier.
I love the pics of Elena playing "Lady Liberty" - what a sweetie. Give her and Elias lots of kisses for me:)
Love to you all,
Mom B. (for everyone)
We love all the pictures and short updates of your travels. We are glad for all of you that you are able to take in some very historic and interesting sites. I (mom) just read about Robert Lowery in a book Jim loaned me about Fanny Crosby. They produced one of my favorite hymns...All the Way My Savior Leads Me. We Baptists have a very rich heritage! Looking forward to Tina and Steven's wedding. See you there, Lord willing. (Hey, I haven't seen Lady Liberty yet, either, Jim.)
Will pray for your travel safely as you travel back from N. C. Love,
Mom and Dad...Emily, too (almost sweet 16)
